DUTCH-BORN Loukie Werle is food editor at House & Garden and Good Health magazines and the author of cookbooks including the bestseller Trattoria Pasta, Recipes My Mother Gave Me, The Trattoria Table and Australia's Big Cheap Cookbook.

She has written books in association with the National Heart Foundation and edited cookbooks for the Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute. Werle conducts cooking classes in her Sydney home and her latest publication is The Barbecue and Grill Cookbook.
